Birth: Dec. 28, 1970 International Falls Koochiching County Minnesota, USA Death: Feb. 13, 2008 Casa Grande Pinal County Arizona, USA Special Warfare Operator Senior Chief (Navy SEAL), enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1989 out of Ham Lake, Minnesota. After finishing his SEAL training, including advanced courses, he and his family settled in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Thomas was a member of the highly selective Naval Special Warfare Development Group based at Dam Neck Annex in Virginia Beach, which evaluates and develops tactics and tests equipment for Navy and other military special forces. He was deployed several times to the Middle East, Iraq and Afghanistan, earning earning three Bronze Stars with "V" for valor, two joint Service Commendation Medals; five Good Conduct Medals, three Combat Action Ribbons and Marine Corps Commendation medals, among other decorations.
