- Scott was the son of Edward and Martha Kirkpatrick and was a fifth generation Washingtonian. On May 11th, 2007 Scott's brigade was redeployed to Arab Jabour as the last of the five brigades in the "surge." By now he was promoted to Sergeant and was highly respected by his subordinates, peers and officers. After the Army, he was planning to move to Austin, Texas, where he would pursue his education and become a teacher, and finish writing his novel. He is survived by his wife, Christy Kirkpatrick; his parents, Edward and Martha Kirkpatrick; his brother, Kevin Kirkpatrick; his uncles, Bruce Deppa and Roy Deppa; Aunts, Ellen Jojola, Susan Burch, Mary Beth Diehl, Clare Kirkpatrick, and Judy Kirkpatrick; a great-Aunt, Lois Perry; and numerous loving cousins, family and friends.
