Birth: Sep. 27, 1984 Death: Aug. 19, 2006, Afghanistan Army Spc. Drawl was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Drawl was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle in Kunar. Robert was a quiet and soft-spoken young man who grew up in northern Virginia. He joined the Army in 2005 and had only completed basic training in January. Robert was in the July 3 issue of an Army publication called Freedom Watch. He told how Independence Day is celebrated in the United States – complete with barbecue and fireworks.
