Birth: Oct. 7, 1984, USA Death: Dec. 21, 2004, Iraq Sgt. Nicholas C. Mason of King George, Virginia was killed in action in Iraq. He was a soldier in the Army National Guard, a member of the 229th in Fredericksburg. He was detailed to the 276th of West Point and died serving his country in Iraq. Sgt. Mason also served as a member of the King George Volunteer Fire Department. Nick was a 2002 honor graduate of King George High School where he was a star wrestler, cross-country runner and track athlete. He was also active in numerous clubs and other activities. He completed his freshman year at Virginia Tech and was preparing for his sophomore year before being called to active duty. Nick is survived by his parents, Vic and Christine Mason and his sister, Carley,
