Birth: Sep. 30, 1977 Norfolk Norfolk City Virginia, USA Death: Jan. 9, 2008, Iraq Staff Sgt., 30, of Chesapeake, Va.; was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Vilseck, Germany.; died Jan. 9 in Sinsil, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations. Also killed were Spc. Todd E. Davis, Staff Sgt. Sean M. Gaul, Sgt. Zachary W. McBride, Sgt. 1st Class Matthew I. Pionk and Sgt. Christopher A. Sanders. He was the son of Carl M. Dozier and Martha D. Cabe. Jonathan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James and Eleanor Day. Jonathan attended Great Bridge Schools, Fork Union Military Academy, VCU and Middle Tennessee State University. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He will be remembered for his sensitivity, caring ways and his ability to gather his many friends for "celebrations".
