- Birth: May 5, 1984 Culpeper Culpeper County Virginia, USA Death: Jun. 21, 2007 Ghazni, Afghanistan Dustin spent most of his growing-up years airborne, jumping off furniture, leaping from roofs and the tops of staircases. After his 2003 graduation from Chancellor High School, he joined the Army with the idea of becoming a paratrooper. He completed Infantry One Station Unit Training in July 2004, and the Basic Airborne Course in August 2004 at Fort Benning, Georgia. He reported to the 82nd Arbourne Division in August 2004 and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Dusty had a tour of duty in Iraq from December 2004 until March 2005. He had been in Afghanistan since February of 2007
